Gearing Up the Giving Campaigns

Last Friday, we held our first event at Microsoft as part of their annual Giving Campaign. We weren't sure what to expect; Microsoft is such a large campus, and with so many employees, we couldn't estimate whether we'd have one or one hundred participants. Happily, we had a great turn-out: about thirty robot-enthusiasts showed up, including two adolescents, and the room divided into five groups of competitors for the Archery event in our abbreviated version of the Robot Olympics. Of course, with a group as tech-savvy as Microsoft employees, no one settled for the basic robot "rover" that we modeled for them, and we're hoping that the participants will bring the same ingenuity to the Tug of War event on 10/21. If you work at Microsoft, or know employees who would be excited about building steroidal robots built to dominate competitors, pass along the word about the Tug of War event: 10/21, 12 - 1 PM, Room 86/2833.

But don't worry if you're not in Seattle area -- or, more specifically, Redmond -- because we have an opportunity for you to monitor TL and participate in our Annual Giving Campaign. We have a new Causes page on Facebook . Come visit us, post a message on the wall, make a donation and see who else is interested in Technically Learning. And, you can help TL go viral: pass this link along to your Facebook friends, and share with them all robotic excitement TL can provide.
